The Cityzens snapped up the 20-year-old Spanish so as to replace Leroy Sane, who left in July for the German outfit Bayern Munich.

MM confirms that Ferran Torres received a lucrative five-year deal earlier today. The contract will run up to 2025, with an estimated base wage of £2.45m pounds.

The Manchester-based club beat a number of top European clubs to seal the transfer of the prodigy. These include neighbors Manchester United, Juventus, Real Madrid, and Atletico Madrid.

Torres seems upbeat working with Man City gaffer, Pep Guardiola. “I am so happy to be joining City,” The Spain-U21 told City’s website.

“Every player wants to be involved in attacking teams and Manchester City is one of the most attacking teams in the world.”

“Pep encourages an open and aggressive style, which I love. He is a manager with a proven track record of improving players. To have him overseeing my development is a dream.”

Manchester City’s director of football Txiki Begiristain is also targeting to sign one new center-back, and the club is closing in a deal for Bournemouth defender Nathan Ake. (ESPN.com)
